Cao Desheng said at the "Internet Shipping and Treasure Ship Network 2.0 Application Development Forum" held in Shanghai that in traditional shipping, the source of goods, carriers, and consumers are all immutable. Now many intermediate links have been replaced by the Internet, and there is information support in rent-seeking and distribution. From the previous one ticket, it has been transferred more than 20 times, and now it may only need to be transferred 10 times. Use the Internet to open the source of goods, so that all sources of goods can be mastered by shipping companies. Although this approach has been perfected in other industries, it has not been really implemented in the shipping industry.

Cao Desheng pointed out that as one of the categories of modern service industry, shipping has a significant trend of blending, promoting and supporting with emerging formats. The deadweight of each ship, which classification societies have been certified, what insurance has been done, which ports have been entered? What is the volume of trade between ports and what changes have taken place in the waterway, etc., these will be the category of "Internet shipping.

Cao Desheng said that the world shipping market has entered a new round of long adjustment period from the overall boom period. The global shipping industry is also exploring new development models, from the traditional single-link competition to chain and chain (logistics chain), network and network (ecological network) competition. In the Internet era, the shipping industry itself has a strong internal driving force for innovation.
