The
Party Central Committee and the State Council have always attached great importance to the development of the maritime industry and the construction of seafarers. Last year, the State Council issued the "Several Opinions on Promoting the Healthy Development of the Maritime Industry", which pointed out the direction for promoting my country from a major maritime country to a maritime power. Seafarers are strong, and shipping is strong. At present, the 620000 of registered seafarers in China, accounting for 1/3 of the total number of seafarers in the world, ranks first in the world, the overall quality is constantly improving, and the team structure is becoming more and more reasonable, which has laid a solid foundation for building a maritime power.

This year
coincides with the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and China's Anti-Japanese War. During the war, seamen from all over the country fought against foreign enemies one after another, and overseas Chinese seamen launched strikes one after another, writing a glorious chapter for Chinese seamen in the magnificent epic of the Chinese nation's indomitable resistance to foreign aggression. In the era of peace, the majority of seafarers continue to carry forward the seafarer spirit of "patriotism, enterprising, dedication, and dedication", loyal to their duties, dedication without regrets, chopping through the waves, setting sail, and contributing to my country's economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihood, as well as the prosperity of world trade and the international shipping industry. the theme of this year's World Day of the Seafarer is "The Seafarer's Career". We will closely focus on the coordinated promotion of the "four comprehensive" strategic layout, continue to strengthen macro management, pay more attention to the training and career development of seafarers, accelerate the development of modern vocational education, innovate training and examination management models, strengthen appropriate skills training, and promote seafarers The team develops in a virtuous circle; strengthen the supervision of the labor market, standardize the management of seafarers' expatriation services, improve the seafarers' service system, create a fair market environment, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights; strengthen news propaganda and public opinion guidance, gather consensus of the whole society, pay attention to the work of seafarers, care about the lives of seafarers, and create a good social atmosphere for the career development of seafarers.
