To comprehensively enhance the professional capabilities of cruise industry personnel and strongly support Shanghai's development as a world-class cruise hub, the 13th Shanghai "China Cup" Vocational Skills Competition and the 2nd Shanghai International Cruise Skills Competition end up successfully at Shanghai Jiguang Polytechnic college on October 26th. This event marked a pivotal advancement in the strategic cooperation of the "Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Service Base". The venue witnessed not only the establishment of the "Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Service Alliance" but also two landmark inaugurations with profound implications for industry development: the "Shanghai Baoshan District Employment Promotion Center International Cruise Employment Sub-center" and the "Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Training Base". Attendees included Tan Youlin, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Deputy Director of Shanghai China Vocational Education Society, along with Baoshan District Vice Mayor Xue Sasa and other officials.




Under the theme "Competitive Talent Development, Converging Intelligence for Navigation," this cruise industry skills competition attracted participation from three leading cruise companies and 14 domestic institutions, featuring 22 teams and 44 contestants. The event included four practical modules: cruise passenger services, entertainment event planning, cocktail service, and specialty restaurant operations. This comprehensively assess participants' professional expertise, adaptability, and overall competence to create a high-standard, real-world skills demonstration platform. After intense competition, one first prize, three second prizes, and five third prizes were awarded to teams. The event not only selected a group of high-caliber professionals but also promoted the standardization and professionalization of cruise services through "learning through competition and training through competition ."


A key highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the "Shanghai Baoshan District Employment Promotion Center International Cruise Employment Sub-center" by Shanghai Huayang Maritime Sci-Tech Development Co.,Ltd. with authorization and support from the Baoshan District Employment Promotion Center. This initiative marks a milestone in Baoshan District's targeted policies and deepened employment services for the international cruise industry, signaling a new substantive phase in government-enterprise collaboration to advance talent development in the sector. As a professional institution with years of expertise in domestic cruise talent cultivation and management, Shanghai Huayang has consistently aligned with international standards to build a high-end cruise human resources brand with global competitiveness and influence. The company has established a comprehensive talent development system and actively participated in constructing the Baoshan District Cruise Industry Human Resources Service Base and co-developing the Cruise Industry Academy, demonstrating exceptional professional capabilities and industry commitment.

The recent authorization to establish an employment sub-center reflects the competent authorities 'high recognition and trust in Shanghai Huayang's professional expertise and industry contributions. Leveraging Shanghai Huayang's core strengths in cruise industry human resources, the sub-center will provide specialized and targeted employment services, creating an efficient two-way platform connecting job seekers with cruise companies. Through systematic resource integration and optimized service processes, it will actively deliver diversified services including vocational training, career guidance, and talent recommendations. This initiative will significantly enhance regional employment levels and the talent pool for the cruise industry, injecting fresh vitality into the development of the cruise sector in Baoshan District and even Shanghai. Furthermore, it will provide valuable "Shanghai models" and "Baoshan experiences" for the national cruise employment service system construction.




During this period, the event achieved several key milestones: The Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Service Alliance was officially established and held its inaugural member meeting, bringing together 31 organizations to create a collaborative ecosystem for talent development involving government, academia, industry, and enterprises. The Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Training Base was inaugurated, while successful agreements were signed for domestic and international cruise training partnerships, introducing cutting-edge global resources to the industry. The Shanghai International Cruise Instructor Training Program also concluded successfully. This series of coordinated initiatives has injected sustained momentum into the comprehensive development of the cruise industry across its entire value chain.
Moving forward, Shanghai Huayang Maritime Sci-Tech Development Co.,Ltd. will launch its new chapter as the "International Cruise Employment Sub-center", building on the strategic platform of the "Shanghai International Cruise Human Resources Service Base".
